AB Thoreb was founded in 1978 by Dr. Thore Brynielsson to develop products that would enhance public transportation systems. Thoreb's product line includes IT (information technology) systems specifically designed for the public transport industry. Thoreb IT systems are continually developed and improved, and utilize mobile electronics, computer and database technology and mobile data communications.

Thoreb North America, LLC is one of AB Thoreb's newest associated companies, and is a result of a partnership between AB Thoreb of Sweden, and Bus Technologies of New Jersey.
Thoreb believes that more attractive public transit can be achieved through a coordinated effort that addresses public transit issues.
